The 2nd Annual Fall Jersey Shore Boat Sale & Expo will be held on September 24-26, 2010 at FirstEnergy Park- home of the Lakewood BlueClaws. The Spring show that was held last month was very successful and we are looking forward to the Fall. In case you missed it, here is the recent news release from the May show.
The cost to exhibit remains low at $2500 for up to 3250 sq. ft. - that is only .77 cents a square foot and is used to market and promote the show. A new addition for the Fall is the availability of booth exhibit space outside the stadium. See the exhibitor application for exhibit details.
We will continue to keep you updated as new information becomes available and may call on members to assist in reaching out to the DOT to prevent the diversion of funds and save the I BOAT NJ Program. The MTA/NJ would like to thank everyone that made calls and reached out to the Governors office on this important issue. While the result may not have been what we had hoped for, the outreach to the new administration was very important in raising awareness and support of the boating industry and its impact on the state’s economy.

NJDEP Coastal Zone Management Rule Changes
As previously announced, the DEP was recently seeking suggestions from the public on the Coastal Zone Management, and Coastal Permit Program rules found at N.J.A.C. 7:7E and N.J.A.C. 7:7, respectively, before they begin the administrative process to readopt these rules with amendments. Executive Director, Melissa Danko attended the NJDEP meeting that was held on May 11th at Monmouth University and provided testimony on the proposed amendments and submitted the MTA/NJ’s detailed comments. To read the MTA/NJ's comments, click on cover letter and MTA/NJ comments. The exact timing of the proposed amendments is unclear; however, the DEP indicated that they will be working on this over the next few months. Members will be updated on any new information that becomes available. Many of these proposed changes will have a significant impact on marinas that apply for DEP permits. Please take a moment to review the comments and if you have any questions or feedback, please email Melissa at mdanko@mtanj.org or call 732-292-1051.
Affordable Advertising in the 2010 MTA/NJ Boater's Directory
Advertising in the MTA/NJ Directory is a great way to get your ad in front of thousands of boaters and potential new customers. It is more important than ever to take advantage of affordable advertising opportunities like this and promote your business! The MTA/NJ Boater’s Directory (Membership Directory) is distributed all year long to thousands of boaters, fellow MTA/NJ members, hundreds of marine businesses, media, and many more. The MTA/NJ office receives daily requests for this handy boating guide.
If you would like to place an ad in the 2011 edition, please complete the Directory Advertising Form. The rates are low and the money you spend to advertise goes back into the boating industry to support the efforts of the MTA/NJ. The MTA/NJ’s Boater’s Directory is digitally printed which gives you the ability to change your ad throughout the year. Updates can also include a change of address, a new product or service, a special event, or anything new you want to advertise. In today’s economy, it is important to get the most out of your dollars. Advertising in the MTA/NJ Boater’s Directory will do just that.
